Enhancements and new features included in Release 7.5 are listed below.

LTE

eHRPD

Tcl API

General

Changes made in previous releases are listed in the following topics:

UbiCell Network

The CDMA Ubicell is a base station, providing CDMA call coverage for areas that high capacity CDMA MACRO BTS cannot handle, such as dead spots in homes and indoor environments as well as areas where radio waves are weak. Landslide emulates the UbiCells as well as the UEs behind them and supports both emulated voice and data access into the UbiCell core.

Landlside 7.5 Ubicell feature enables Packet Data Traffic and Voice Traffic on the Ubicell Test Case. The PCF Node tests the Voice Traffic.

eHRPD Testing

Landslide 7.5 supports eHRPD Phase 2 testing with the addition of intra-HSGW mobility testing.  This includes support for performance testing, intra-HSGW handover, PMIPv6 (S2a) support into the LTE core.

LTE Phase 4

Landslide 7.5 LTE Phase 4 adds support for expanded call flows, S1 and X2 Handover support for SGW testing, enhanced error reporting, S1 Release procedure, Idle to Active Transitions (UE and network initiated), dedicated bearer activation/deactivation (network initiated), QoS Bearer Modification (network initiated), HSS initiated default bearer request (from UE side).

This release of Landslide LTE is based on 3GPP March 2009 standards.

SGSN Node Emulation

A stand-alone SGSN testing, supports Iu/Gb, Gn and Gi (combined SGSN/GGSN) interfaces, eliminating the need for a high-cost SGSN.  The SGSN Node emulator can be used for testing 2G/3G RANs, firewalls and other devices that communicate over the Gi interface in the case of combined SGSN/GGSN emulation.

The UMTS test application, coupled with its SGSN Node emulation and GGSN Node emulation, allows monitoring of every interface from the RAN to the Internet without the need for high-cost core network elements.

Also includes support for Gb IP Dynamic Configuration in SGSN Node and UMTS testing.

TCL Scripting API

Landslide 7.5 Tcl-based API has been expanded to allow total control of the Landslide system via the Tcl interface. This allows you to automate the Landslide system into your integrated test environment to manage, control and query the Landslide tests via the Tcl interface. All the capabilities available via Landslides GUI are available via Landslide’s Tcl API.

In addition, you may also save the existing test sessions, DMFs, and/or MEs as Tcl file. See also Save As Tcl.

Landslide GUI Enhancements

Pass/Fail Criteria

The Pass/Fail criteria feature allows you to set up criteria to indicate when a test passes or fails. The feature allows you to configure various combinations of events, statistics, and comparisons, that when met during a test, will set pass/fail indicators.  These indicators can be checked manually or as part of automation, which gives you an overall test pass/fail indication without having to do any additional test results analysis.

PCRF Enhancements

Includes PCRF (Nodal and Node) Enhancements

Report Data Analysis

The Excel reports generated by the TAS application on the Landslide manager now includes a too bar with various buttons that assist in creating graphs, charts and worksheets with selected measurements for analysis.

These capabilities were developed using Microsoft Excel 2003 and Visual Basic 6.5.  The VB functions that were developed can be used as a basis for developing your own custom functions.  This gives you the capability to develop your own custom reports with additional analysis.

Reorganized the help to reflect the Graphical Test Cases Settings

The Following Test Cases have been reorganized to reflect the GUI layout changes. The existing parameters have been grouped differently and no new types of parameter widgets have been added. Some settings that were in pop-up dialogs are now on sub-tabs and are visible only when they are applicable.

See Graphical Test Case Settings for a description of the test case settings layout.

TAS Cleanup Utility

TAS Manager provides an option to cleanup and or download backup files located on TAS: TAS Upgrades, TAS Backups, TAS Licenses, TS Upgrades.
