The HRPD Serving Gateway (HSGW) ensures converged mobility management between HRPD and LTE networks. The HSGW provides interworking between the HRPD access node and the Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW). In some network instances, the existing PDSN can be integrated with or upgraded to the HSGW while the existing HA can be integrated with or upgraded to the PGW (or provided as a separate node).
The HRPD Serving Gateway (HSGW) terminates the eHRPD access network interface from the eAN/ePCF (i.e., A10/A11 interfaces). The HSGW routes UE originated or UE terminated packet data traffic. An HSGW also establishes, maintains and terminates link layer sessions to UEs. The HSGW functionality provides interworking of the UE with the 3GPP EPS architecture and protocols. This includes support for mobility, policy control and charging (PCC), access authentication, and roaming. The HSGW shall also supports intra-HSGW mobility.
The HSGW Nodal tests A10/A11 and S2a interface.
In the end-to-end configuration, the test case supports testing of A10/A11 and S2a interface.
The Intra HSGW Mobility tests Mobility handoff, S2a, and RP interface.
The Inter HSGW Mobility tests Mobility handoff, S2a, and RP interface.

MSS context state and rates
The eHRPD (Evolved HRPD) network supports attachment to the EPC (evolved packet core) of 3GPP. The eHRPD network optionally supports seamless handoffs between E-UTRAN and eHRPD with single-radio terminals.
The eAN/ePCF Node includes a logical entity in the Radio Access Network (RAN) used for radio communications with the UE and an evolved Packet Control Function entity (ePCF) that manages the relay of packets between the eAN (evolved Access Network) and the HSGW.
The HSGW is the HRPD Serving Gateway that connects the evolved HRPD access network with the evolved packet core (EPC) as a trusted non-3GPP access network. The HSGW provides the PMIPv6 mobile access gateway (MAG) function to support layer 3 mobility with the PDN GW (LMA).
When your test activity measures processing capability rather than rates, you can expand the scope of the test:
Add Data Traffic to the test to more closely simulate a live network using various wireless applications and protocols.
Encrypt Data Traffic with the optional Dynamic IPSec feature.
Defines the PMIPv6 interface (S2a) between the HSGW and LMA using the PMIPv6 tab. PMIPv6 IPSec requires a Dynamic IPSec license and its use is optional. This enables the Local Mobility Anchor (LMA), to dynamically setup tunnels and manage mobility for a mobile node within the Proxy Mobile IPv6 domain.
Measurements collected for the basic HSGW Nodal test case are reported on the following tabs. Additional measurements may be available depending on the test activity and options executed with the test case.
