You can now configure new parameters in the AAA Server Nodal/Node test cases using the Test Data Configuration file.
The EAP Dialog now supports MSCHAPv2 as a new authentication method, and the TLS tab has PEAP options and sub-tabs of all the outer EAP authentication methods to meet the needs of PEAP.
You now have the ability to select the hashing algorithm for RADIUS attributes in the VSA configuration. Hashing algorithm choices include MD5, SMD5 (Salt MD5), or None.
The RADIUS Extension for Digest Authentication is now supported in the AAA Server Nodal and AAA Server Node test cases.
You can now modify parameters while running a test via the command line API.
Added support for MIPv6.
The new optional "Turbo Data" feature provides enhanced data throughput. See Kernel and Turbo Mode for details. For further assistance regarding this feature and the improved rates, contact your Technical Support representative.

Protocol Wizard launches differently from the previous release, as follows:
Release 5.0: When you clicked the Protocol Wizard button, you could select the protocol with which you wanted to work, and then start with a new data flow.
Release 5.5: The Protocol Wizard button is enabled/disabled based on the selected Data Protocol in the drop-down list at the top of the Data Message Flow (DMF) window. When you click the Protocol Wizard button, it launches the wizard for the selected protocol. Depending on the protocol, it will either start with a new data flow or it will parse the data flow that exists in the DMF into the wizard. Currently, SIP is the only protocol that supports this parsing. Details regarding different protocols are as follows:
SIP supports parsing between the Protocol Wizard and DMF, and between the Hex-Ascii, Text Editor, and SIP sub-tabs in the Message Editor.
POP3/SMTP/WSP(MMS) support parsing from the Protocol Wizard to the DMF, and between the Hex-Ascii and Text Editor sub-tabs in the Message Editor.
Other protocols have no Protocol Wizard available, only the DMF. They support parsing between the Hex-Ascii and Text Editor sub-tabs in the Message Editor.
MMS Protocol Wizard is available when Data Protocol is WSP.
ICMP Protocol Wizard is available when Data Protocol is Custom.
SIP Protocol Wizard
Supports Auto-Fill Fields by right-clicking in each field.
Provides a way to view SIP DMF messages as ASCII or raw data.
You can now embed up to 5 subflow DMFs within one main flow DMF. (Previously, the limit was 3.)
You can now display the flow sequences of DMFs, including Commands, Sends, Waits, Subflow Starts, and transaction loops. You initiate the display by right-clicking on any row in a DMF sequence, and then selecting Display Sequence.
When editing a SIP message, provides a SIP tab in the Message Editor that shows the message as it appears in the Protocol Wizard.
The Message Editor has Command/Search Pattern enhancements for modifying inserted Auto-Fill items.
Extended Authentication (XAuth) for IKE version 1 is now supported.
You can now specify the contents of the ID-r payload that can be sent in the IKE_AUTH exchange for IKE version 2, using the Include Peer ID option.
You can now emulate a DHCP Relay Agent (as described in RFC 3046) in the IP Application Node test case.
You can now run a remote Network Host with the IP Application Node test case on the same test server. This feature is available when you enable the optional "Turbo Data" feature.
NOTE: You must set the Enable User Driver option for the test server in the Test Server Configuration window to use this feature. The Enable User Driver option is not available on 2500 or ES systems. |
The TAS can now optionally remember test server cfguser passwords for test server configuration, certificate files, debug mode, trace level, and log retrieval features.
The PCRF Nodal test case allows you to emulate the Access Gateway (AGW) and Application Function (AF) such that a PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) can be tested in isolation. Landslide emulates the AGW to provide the Ty interface to the PCRF, and emulates the AF to provide the Tx interface to the PCRF.
The Test Session Scheduler now provides the ability to schedule recurring tests on a daily or weekly basis.
To simplify capturing debug data, you can now enable or disable debug mode, and set the trace level for a particular test server.
Log retrieval has been simplified.
A shortcut to the TS Admin has been added, and the Wireshark button has been moved to the Test Server Administration window.
You can now backup/restore a test server configuration to/from the TAS.
The new Test Server Assignment feature provides user-centric and test server-centric views to assign users to test servers.
For GEA encryption, the simulated MNs now support the GEA/1, GEA/2, and GEA/3 algorithms. Previously, you could enable/disable the GEA values in the GMM sub-tab, but the configuration information was not being used when building the associated GMM messages.
When you enable the optional "Turbo Data" feature, you can select the VLAN option and enter a VLAN ID to include a VLAN tag with the specified ID in every packet transmitted. This feature is available in all Ethernet node Advanced... dialogs, as well as in the following areas:
For most nodal test cases, the VLAN option is available with the Advanced... button in the Data Traffic pane.
The FA Node, GGSN Node, LNS Node, PDSN SIP Node, PDSN MIP Node, IPv6 CN Node, and CDMA WiFi Convergence Node test cases all support the VLAN option in their Data Traffic panes. The VLAN option is tied to the optional Forward Session Source IP field.
The PDG Micro Mobility and IP Application Node test cases support the VLAN option in their Mobile Node sub-tab.
The Network Host test case supports the VLAN option with the Advanced... button.

The WiMAX Forum Test Application provides comprehensive, end-to-end emulation of millions of mobile WiMAX subscriber stations, all simultaneously accessing the wireless network. The application provides:
ASN Nodal Testing (tests/isolates ASN Gateway)
End-to-End Testing (tests ASN Gateway and CSN together)
Idle Mode
Location Update
VLAN Support
Each test server supports 100,000 subscriber stations. Up to 32 test servers can be supported in a single test bed.
The WiMAX Nodal test case now provides these Phase 3 features:
Idle Mode
Location Update
VLAN Support
