The PCRF Nodal test case allows you to emulate the Access Gateway (AGW) and Application Function (AF) such that a PCRF can be tested in isolation. Landslide emulates the AGW to provide the Ty interface to the PCRF, and emulates the AF to provide the Tx interface to the PCRF.
NOTE: Although defined slightly different in their associated standards, both the 3GPP and 3GPP2 organizations have implemented a policy decision function and associated reference points. 3GPP2 defines the reference points as Tx and Ty, while 3GPP defines them as Rx and Gx. The Landslide PCRF Test application provides support for all four reference points in any combination. |
With this test case, you define:
The Ty Diameter/Gx/R3 interface parameters
Optional/mandatory parameters in Diameter messages (Tx interface)
Optional/mandatory parameters in Ty messages (for Diameter protocol)
IP addresses for the AGW Node and AF Node
Number of simultaneous sessions to establish
Rate of session establishment
Duration of each session before initiating teardown
Measurements collected for this test case include:
Summary showing number of sessions established
Number of messages sent and received by interface (for example, number of Access Requests sent and number of Access Accepts received on Ty interface)
Error indications such as timeouts, error messages received, and failed sessions
The Gx, Tx, and Gxc interface parameters
Optional/mandatory parameters in Ty messages (for Diameter protocol)
IP addresses for the AGW Node, AF Node, and BBERF Node
Number of simultaneous sessions to establish
Duration of each session before initiating teardown
Use the SUT Query option to monitor the CPU utilization of an SUT, and determine the amount of activity that the SUT can handle within a given CPU threshold.
Measurements collected for the basic PCRF Nodal test case are reported on the following tabs. Additional measurements may be available depending on the test activity and options executed with the test case.
