Assigning Users to Test Servers

This feature allows you to exclusively assign one or more users to one or more test servers. The assignment is permanent until changed. There is also a mutually exclusive feature to instead reserve dedicated time for individual users, see Test Server Reservation Scheduler.

Use the View Menu - Test Server Assignments tab to assign a user to test servers or a test server to users.

NOTES:

The default privilege level for Test Server Assignment is System Admin or above.
The View / Test Server Assignments dialog is still viewable for Test Admin or Test Operator, but assignments can't be changed by them.
If no users are assigned to a test server, that test server is assigned to everyone.
Only users assigned to a specific test server can run tests on that test server. (If others try to run a test, they will receive an error.)
All users can set up tests on every test server, regardless of assignments.
Test server administration and configuration features are not affected by test server assignments.

To assign a user to test servers:

Click the User tab.
Select a user from the User drop-down list.

Select a test server from the Available Test Servers list.

TIP: You can select multiple test servers by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking each test server.

Click the right arrow button to move your selected test servers to the Assigned Test Servers list. (Use the left arrow button to undo the assignment.)
Click Close.

To assign a test server to users:

Click the Test Server tab.
Select a test server from the Test Server drop-down list.

Select a user from the Available Users list.

TIP: You can select multiple users by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking each user.

Click the right arrow button to move your selected users to the Assigned Users list. (Use the left arrow button to undo the assignment.)
Click Close.
