Always use an up-level browser to access the test system. If you haven't already done so, use the links on the home page to help you install and configure Java before your first attempt to start the application.
To start the Landslide Client:
Open your browser.
Enter the IP address or host name of the Landslide Manager in the address bar and press Enter or click Go. The Home Page... is displayed. You can choose to start the Landslide Client, the TEX Web Client or the Standalone Client. Additional details for TEX Web Client can be found in TEX Web Client. Additional details for the Standalone Client can be found in Standalone Client and Standalone TAS Manager Console.
TROUBLESHOOT: If you receive an error message stating that the server cannot be found, verify that you entered the correct IP address, and that your platform is in, or has access to, the server's network. If you are on another network, verify that your Network Administrator has enabled remote Access to Client Network system. |
The memory allocated to the Landslide client application is 750M (Megabytes) and indicates the maximum memory allocation allowed. You may change the maximum memory allowed if required (see Client Recommendations). If your browser is configured to accept cookies, the settings that you define will be displayed the next time you load the Home Page.
Click the Launch button on the Landslide Client panel of the main window, and your browser will attempt to download the client application. This may take more than a minute with a slow connection speed and will only occur on subsequent sessions if the test system has been upgraded. You may log in when the Landslide Client window opens.
If this is the first time you have started a Landslide application, a security warning is displayed that asks whether you want to run the application. You can click More Information to view the digital certificate. If you check the Always trust content from this publisher box, the warning will not be displayed again. Click Run to start the Landslide Client.
TROUBLESHOOT: If the client window fails to open, follow the procedures in Configuring Your Java Settings to ensure that you have installed and configured Java correctly. |
TROUBLESHOOT: If you get a Java Web Start Error, you should reload the Application. In some cases, you may need to disconnect between TLS Versions supported by your Java (Java Control Panel) and by your Test Manager (OS Dependent) |
While you are logged in to the test system, your connection status and the Client Memory Monitor are displayed on the status bar in the Main window.
