Client Recommendations

Client platforms require minimal configuration: installation of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is necessary to support the Landslide Client application, identification of the proxy server, when a proxy server is present and have sufficient memory to support Landslide Client application operations and test reports. When a user attempts to log in, the system scans the client platform for the correct JRE and prompts the user to download and install the JRE if necessary.

Hardware Requirements

The processor speed, RAM, and disk space requirements vary according to the type of test system and the type of tests that you will be executing. As a general guideline, when your testing consists of simple, single test server tests the lower requirements are adequate. When a test uses multiple test cases and test servers, a more robust client configuration will yield better client performance during test execution.

Software Requirements

NOTES:

  • Test system web pages are best viewed with the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, or other Chromium based browsers.

  • TEX (Test Execution) Web Client is best viewed with the latest version of Chrome.

  • Javascript and Java Web Start must be enabled in the browser.

  • Popup blockers should be disabled before starting.

  • Cookies should be allowed if you want your memory settings to save.

  • Java Web Start applications require OpenWebStart to launch. Java Web Start is no longer supported/included in Java 11 or later, https://www.openwebstart.com now provides this functionality. Users that want to use the Landslide Java Web Start clients can download and install OpenWebStart.

  • The Troubleshoot Clients page on the Landslide Home Page will include recent Java JREs that will work with all Landslide applications.
