Executing a Test

You execute a test by running a configured test session. You can run a test session as soon as you finish configuring it, you can open a saved test session and run it, or you can utilize the GUI, RESTful API, Tcl API, or TEX Web Client.

NOTE: Only 30 static routes per TS Process are supported. TAS prevents you from starting a test with more than 30 subnets on any TS process.

An error occurs if total subnets in a TS process (including v4, v6, and lo subnets) is > 30 (6 ports x 5 subnets per port). In addition, the total static routes are limited to not more than 30 per TS process.

When you run a test session, a number of visual indicators allow you to monitor the progress of the test and detailed log messages record every action. You can also capture the log during the test or download the log after the test is complete. For the most detailed view of the test progress, use The Wireshark Network Analyzer to capture the packets transmitted during the test.

You can manually control the test operation by stopping or aborting the test. You can also change some of the test case settings while the test is running (in real-time).

If the test has a long duration, you can disconnect from the test session and reconnect to check its progress.

While the test is running and after it is complete, you can use the reporting features to analyze the test results. The results are automatically saved on the TAS when the test is complete and you can view or download the saved results at any time.
