Related Measurements

Measurements collected for SGs Session related processing are reported on the S1-AP report tabs.

VLR Name

Indicates the Visitor Location Register name.

The MME derives the VLR name from the location area identification which was determined. In case multiple VLRs serve this location area identification, the MME uses the location area identification and an IMSI hash value to retrieve the VLR name. (The MME includes the location area identification in the new location area identifier information element in the SGsAP-LOCATION-UPDATE-REQUEST message).

Default: #mme.spirent.com

Tcl Parameter: SgsApVlrName

Include TMSI in Paging Request

Select to Include TMSI in the Paging Request from the SGsAP (includes the TMSI IE (as a Standalone IE) in the Paging Request message).

Tcl Parameter: IncMobileIdInPagingReq

Include Mobile Identity in Location Update Accept

Select to include Mobile Identity in the Location Accept message sent by the MSC Node in response to the Location Update Request sent by the SGsAP.

Tcl Parameter: IncMobileIdInLua

Circuit Switched Fallback Paging

In MME Nodal and MSC Node Test Case, select to enable input for Circuit Switched Back.

Tcl Parameter: MscCsfsfbEn

Number of Retries

Range: 1 - 6 Seconds

Default: 3

Tcl Parameter: NumRetries

TS5 (s)

The TS5 timer indicates the period during which the paging procedure is active. The VLR starts timer Ts5 when sending the SGsAP-PAGING-REQUEST message and stops the paging procedure on expiry of timer Ts5.

Range: 2 - 20 Seconds

Default: 10

Tcl Parameter: Ts5Timer

TS7 (s)

The TS7 timer indicates the timer to wait for Alert Ack or Alert Reject after invoking Alert Request.

Range: 1 - 30 Seconds

Default: 1

Tcl Parameter: Ts7Timer

Circuit Switch Fallback Delay (s)

The Circuit Switched Fallback Delay indicates the delay in switching voice call with a third-party provider.

Range: 1 - 60 Seconds

Default: 30

Tcl Parameter: CsfbTimer

Paging Interval (s)

Indicates the paging interval and a subframe within that interval where the paging message could be sent.

Range: 0 - 3600 Seconds

Default: 60

Tcl Parameter: PagingInterval

Paging Interval After Alert Reject (s)

Indicates the interval to send Paging Request after receiving Alert Reject.

Range: 0 - 30 Seconds

Default: 1

Tcl Parameter: PagingIntervalAfterAlertReject

Include ISR Indication

Available in MME Nodal Test Case. Select to add the "EMM combined procedures capability" and ISR flag based on the specification of 23.272 section 5.5 as specified here:

"CSFB and/or SMS over SGs enabled UE includes the "EMM combined procedures capability" indication as part of the "MS Network Capability" in the Attach, RAU or combined RAU/LAU Request message, if the UE has been configured to use CSFB service and/or SMS over SGs. SGSN stores the "EMM combined procedures capability" indication for ISR operation. If the UE has not been configured to use CSFB or SMS over SGs, the CSFB/SMS over SGs capable UE shall not include the "EMM combined procedures capability" indication in the Attach, RAU or combined RAU/LAU Request message to SGSN."

Tcl Parameter: IncIsrIndicationEn

Option 2

Select for support of Option 2 as defined in TS29.118. With option 2 paging, the MSC sends the Page request with the Maximum Retransmission Timer IE.  If the MME responds with a UE Unreachable Message, including a Requested Retransmission Time IE, the MSC effectively enters a wait state until the time, as specified in the Requested Retrans Timer IE, passes. The MSC will then re-attempt the Page request.

When the MSC receives a Service Request in response to a Page, the MSC will begin the SMS transfer. The 2 diagrams below show the call flow for each of the supported scenarios.

Option 2 is not available when MSC, MAP-D, MAP-E and SGs are selected on SMS Network test case.

Tcl Parameter: Option2En

During this wait period, if the MSC receives a UE Activity message from the MME, the MSC can initiate the SMS transfer.

Maximum Retransmission Time (s) The Maximum Retransmission Time field is required when Option 2 is checked.  The value from this field is added to the time the test starts and that value is used for the Maximum Retransmission IE in the Page request. Range: 1 to 4294967295 Default: 1 Tcl Parameter: Opt2MaxRetransTime
Delivery Timer (s)

Delivery Timer and Delivery Start Time are optional fields.  They determine if the optional Delivery Timer and Delivery Start Time IE’s are included in the Page request or not.  However, if either of the fields is checked they both must be checked – you cannot check one without the other.

The value for the Delivery Timer field is used as the value for the Delivery Timer IE.

Range: 1 to 65535

Default: 1 Tcl Parameter: Opt2DeliveryTimer
Delivery Start Time (s)

The value from the Delivery Start Time field is added to the time the test starts and that value is used for the Delivery Start Time IE in the Page request.  Note that this field can be a negative value (to simulate the message delivery started sometime in the past).

Range: -32767 to 32767

Default: 0 Tcl Parameter: Opt2DeliveryStartTime
