The values on the PPP tab report the packet counters and rates for PPP sessions. These measurements are available in the following test cases:
In the default view, the Reports tab displays the Summary view, which summarizes the measurements for the test session. If your test includes multiple test cases, you can view the report for a single test case by changing the report view...
Unless otherwise noted, cumulative values report the number of occurrences or rates calculated since the start of the test, and per-interval values report the number of occurrences or rates calculated during the interval. You can view either by changing the measurement values...
Elapsed Time is the first measurement on every tab. It reports the amount of time between the start of the test and the end of the report interval.
Test Iteration reports the current iteration in a repeating test session. It is only displayed when a Number of Iterations is defined for the test session.
Attempts — The total number of attempts to establish a new PPP session. Although this value is the sum of Successes and Failures, the equation may not hold true at any given time during session processing since some sessions may be in a transient state when the measurements are collected.
Minimum Connect Time — The minimum time, in microseconds, required to establish a PPP session
Maximum Connect Time — The maximum time, in microseconds, required to establish a PPP session
Minimum Disconnect Time — The minimum time, in microseconds, required to disconnect a PPP session
Maximum Disconnect Time — The maximum time, in microseconds, required to disconnect a PPP session
Successes — The number of successful attempts to establish a PPP session.
Failures — The number of PPP sessions that failed due to one of the following errors:
|
|
IP Allocations — The number of IP addresses allocated by the PPP layer.
NOTE: In CDMA2000 testing, this measurement is only applicable to Simple IP tests, since with Simple IP the PPP layer is responsible for providing the MN with an address. |
Disconnect Count — The number of sessions that have been disconnected.
Average Connect Time — The average time, in microseconds, required to establish a PPP session.
Average Disconnect Time — The average time, in microseconds, required to tear down a PPP session.
These measurements are applicable and increment only in HSGW test cases running VSNCP, responsible for negotiating the use of VSNP.
VSNCP Requests Sent — The number of VSNCP requests sent.
VSNCP Requests Received — The number of VSNCP requests received.
VSNCP Rejects Received — The number of VSNCP rejects received.
VSNCP Rejects Sent — The number of VSNCP rejects sent.
VSNCP NAKs Sent — The number of VSNCP NAKs sent.
VSNCP NAKs Received — The number of VSNCP NAKs received.
VSNCP ACKs Sent — The number of VSNCP ACKs sent.
VSNCP ACKs Received — The number of VSNCP ACKs received.
VSNCP Timeouts — The number of times a VSNCP request was sent without receiving a response.
VSNCP Retries Exceeded — The number of VSNCP request attempts that resulted in the defined Retries being exceeded.
VSNCP Terminations Received — The number of VSNCP terminations received.
VSNCP Termination ACKs Received — The number of VSNCP termination ACKs received.
The following measurements report on authorization attempts when PAP authentication is used. You can define the number of Retry attempts that are made after a timeout.
PAP Authorization Attempts
PAP Authorization Successes
PAP Authorization Failures
PAP Timeouts
NOTE: This error will not prevent the session from being established if a reply is received before all retries have been exhausted. |
PAP Retries Exceeded
The following measurements report on authorization attempts when CHAP authentication is used.
CHAP Authorization Attempts
CHAP Authorization Successes
CHAP Authorization Failures
CHAP Timeouts
The following measurements report on the messages exchanged during link establishment and termination. You can define the number of Retry attempts that are made after a timeout.

The following measurements report on the messages exchanged after a PPP session is established. You can define the number of Retry attempts that are made after a timeout.

The following measurements report on authorization attempts when EAP authentication is used. You can define the number of Retry attempts that are made after a timeout.

The following measurements record PPP packets received during all phases of PPP.
Invalid Packets — The number of PPP packets received that contained an unknown protocol type or that were silently discarded as not appropriate to the current PPP phase (termination ACKs when a link is in a closed or stopped state or non-LCP packets received during link establishment, for example).
