Filtering Measurements

You can customize the measurements displayed on each report tab, displaying the measurements that are most important or interesting and hiding those that are not applicable to the test or that have little value in analyzing the results. All measurements are displayed by default.

NOTE: Filtering is applied to the display only when you select the Filter checkbox.  The filtering has no effect on any TS generated reports (e.g., per session, billing, etc.), nor on the .xls or .csv reports.  However, the filter that is setup when starting the test is applied to the database (meas.db) generation, if database generation is enabled when setting up Report Options for capturing report.

TIP: Use filtering measurements to report only the required measurements to ensure the database size does not get very large (database generation with large test sessions over long periods of time may slow the TAS down).

To configure a report filter:

  1. Click the Report Filters... button on the Reports tab to open the View/Edit Report Filters window.

  2. All report tabs from all of the test cases in the test session are displayed in the window, including those that may only appear in certain test configurations.

  3. Select a report tab, and the measurements available on that tab are displayed in the grid.

  4. Use the controls to select the measurements that will be displayed and to de-select the measurements that will be hidden. If all of the measurements on a tab are hidden, the tab will not be displayed.

    • Clear a checkbox in the Show column to suppress a measurement.

  5. Click Toggle All to reverse the selections for the selected tab.

  6. Click Select All to check all measurements for the selected tab.

  7. Click De-select All to clear all measurements for the selected tab.

  1. When you are finished, click OK to apply the filter and the filtered report is displayed. You can click Cancel to discard your changes. The filter definition will be saved with the test session.

You can also make changes to the filter or create a new filter while the test is running with the Filters button on the Reports tab. To create a new filter in real time, check the box to enable filtering. If you close the Test Session window and then reconnect to the test, the report will revert to the filter that was in effect when the test was started.
