Capturing Reports

Use the Test Session menu to capture a Test Report or a Per Session Report. Test Reports can be captured while the test is running or after it has completed. Per Session Reports can only be captured while the test is running.

TIPS:

  • A Test Report is automatically saved on the TAS when a test session is complete. You can customize the settings for Auto-Saved reports.

  • You can capture some or all of the measurements from one report tab by selecting the rows (click and drag in any column), copying the selection to your clipboard (Ctrl-c), and pasting them into an Excel spreadsheet (Ctrl-v).

NOTE: Filtering is applied to the display only when you select the Filter checkbox.  The filtering has no effect on any TS generated reports (e.g., per session, billing, etc.), nor on the .xls or .csv reports.  However, the filter that is setup when starting the test is applied to the database (meas.db) generation, if database generation is enabled.

To capture a Test Report:

You can capture the report as displayed on the Reports tab in an Excel (.xls) format and choose to save all measurements, a selected Measurement tab, all report intervals, or the displayed intervals.

  1. Select the Reports tab in the Test Session window.
  2. If you only want to save the measurements from one test case, change the report view...
  3. If you only want to save the measurements from one Measurement tab, select the tab.
  4. If you only want to save a subset of the report intervals, display the intervals...
  5. Set the measurement values... to Cumulative or Per-Interval as desired.
  6. Browse to the location in which you want to save the report, enter a File Name, and click Save.

You can also capture a full Test Report for the test session, all test cases in the test session, or individual test cases in separate files in either an Excel or csv format and choose either cumulative or per-interval measurement values.

  1. Select Reports > Save > Custom from the Test Session menu, and the Save Report Options window opens.

  2. Select the report level from the View drop-down list. You can capture a Summary report, Summary and Each Test Case in Separate Files, or a Summary and Each Test Case in One File.

  3. Select the file type, Excel (.xls) or Text (.csv), from the Format drop-down list.

  4. Check the Use Per Interval box to set the report values to per-interval. If the box is cleared, cumulative report values will be captured.

  5. Click the Browse/Change button and use the Save window to navigate to the save location. Enter the File Name and click Save to accept the settings. If the test session contains multiple test cases and you chose All Test Cases in Step 2, the log identifier for each test case is appended to the file name that you defined.

  6. Click the Save button, and the report is exported to the location you specified.

To capture a Per Session Report:

You can capture a Per Session Report at any time while the test is running. If the test session uses Automation Control to execute a test case more than once and the Report Options include a Per Session Report, you can capture a Per Session Report for every iteration of a test case by capturing the report after a Cleanup step and before the Init step that begins the next iteration.

  1. Select None, Mobile, or DMF from the L4-7 dropdown list and select the Per Session check box for L4-7, L3, Mobile Access Transport,  and/or Core Network Nodes.

Per Session and Per Mobile Node Options
    pane becomes available.

  2. Select All Sessions or the Range of Sessions radio button. If you selected the Range of Sessions, enter the number of the Starting Session to capture and the # of Sessions to capture, and then click OK.

  3. If you chose Mobile Node from the L4-7 drop-down list, the Mobile Node options in the Per Session and Per Mobile Node Options pane become available.

  4. Select All Mobile Nodes or the Range of Mobile Nodes radio button. If you selected the Range of Mobile Nodes, enter the number of the Starting MN to capture and the # of MNs to capture, and then click OK..

  5. The Per Session Report files are generated and saved to your results directory on the TAS. Select the Logs tab to view the report generation progress and the list of files generated.

  6. View or download the report files.
