Saving a Test Case

Use the Session Builder tab... to save a test case and either add a new test case to the library or overwrite an existing test case. You can choose to link the test case to the test session or retain a local copy of the test case in the test session.

NOTE: A local test case is saved with the test session and need not be saved to the library unless you want to preserve the current definition or add it to another test session.

To save a Test Case:

  1. Select the test case and click Save As or right-click the test case and select Save Test Case As from the Test Case menu, and the Save to Test Case Library window opens.

    IMPORTANT:

    • The button used to save a test case is on the Session Builder tab and should not be confused with the Save button that appears at the bottom of the Test Session window. That button is used to save a test session.

    • If you choose to overwrite a linked test case, the changes that you made will be reflected in all test sessions that link to the test case.

  2. Select Keep Link to link the test session to the new test case or Keep Copy (default) to save the test case but retain a local test case in the test session.

  3. Following the instructions in Adding to the Libraries, define at least a Library section and a Name for the test case and then click Save.
