S102

The S102 interface tab is the reference point between the MME and the 1xCS IWS, which supports CS fallback in EPS function. The S102 reference point provides a tunnel between MME and 3GPP2 1xCS IWS to relay 3GPP2 1xCS signalling messages (1x CS signalling messages are those messages that are defined for A21 interface).

The S102 tab is available in MME Nodal Test Case when Test Activity is Inter-Technology Mobility and Handoff protocol is 1xRTT on the MME Nodal Test Configuration tab. In MME Node test case, the S102 tab is available when you select S102 Interface on the MME Node Emulator Configuration tab.

The S102 messages support interworking and CS fallback to 1x RTT procedures between MME and 1xCS IWS.

Enable KDDI Proprietary Keep Alive Mechanism

Indicates the proprietary mechanism available when you select Vendor Variant 2 on MME Nodal Test Configuration and MME Node Emulator Configuration tabs.

Echo Intervals	Indicates the length of time to wait before sending an Echo Request message (a proprietary keep-alive mechanism for messages sent via S102 Interface.)
Retires	Retries is the number of times an Echo message will be re-sent after the Echo Interval expires. Enter 0 to disable retries.

Instance Settings

Retry Interval	Retry Interval defines the maximum number of seconds the test will wait for a required response before re-transmitting the message.
Retries	Retries is the number of times a message will be re-transmitted (over S102 interface) after the retry time/interval expires. Enter 0 to disable retries.

NOTE: This timer is started when the MME or 1xCS IWS sends an A21-1x Air interface signalling message or a A21 Event Notification message and is stopped when the corresponding A21-Ack message is received from the peer 1xCS IWS or MME.
