Global Meta Data is Meta Data saved by you as a named Set within a library and is not associated with a TS or SUT. You may define Global Meta Data from View > Global Meta Data and the Global Meta Data window displays.
The Meta Data is a table of Name-Value pairs that you can define. From the Global Meta Data window, you may create, save, delete many different sets of Global Meta Data. You may also cut, copy, paste Meta Data from TS/SUT Meta Data.
You can now apply an entire Meta Data profile to a Test Case to override it’s parameters.
Metadata allows a user to create a group of parameters that are associated with Test case variables. This will give flexibility to the user to quickly change the test bed environment without having to change the entries (e.g IP address /vlan/port/ac-address..etc), the metadata group in this case will become test case specific (e.g sgw nodal). You can also include port Test server and Port reservation in the metadata. See About the Session Builder Tab - Apply the Meta Data.
Library |
Select the library where you wish to create/edit Global Meta Data. Click New and enter the required name. Added an option to add any entry in the Test Case to metadata folder " or group" - this allows the user to name the group something that they can reference such as a Test Case (for example sgw nodal 1). |

Name, Value Columns |
You may edit each cell under the Name and Value column and enter any ASCII character. |

New Row (Name-Value pair) |
This option allows you to create large amounts of Meta Data using Excel or text editor and import data.

After defining a Global Meta Data Set in a library, you may access the Global Meta Data from within a Test Case editor. Click F5 or Meta Data in a parameter to display the Meta Data Selector window, and click Global in the left pane to associate the define Global Meta Data Set with the test session.
The first item in the list (left pane) is always the Global Meta Data Set. You can change the Global Meta Data Set by clicking Set Global.
NOTE: The Global Meta Data association is to the test session, not the test case. |
