With the QOS Update Test, you can test a SUT's ability to process Update PDP Context requests that contain QOS profile changes.
The QOS Update Test begins establishing PDP contexts at the connect rate that you define. The contexts can share the same QOS profile, or you can define individual profiles for an MN's contexts.
As each context is established, the test waits for the delay time, and then sends an update request with the new QOS values that you specified. As with the original QOS profiles, you can define one profile to be used in the update or individual profiles for the update.
If you select continuous updates, the test waits for the delay time and then sends an update request with the original QOS values. This cycles repeats for the duration of the test. Otherwise, the updated QOS values remain in effect through the duration of the test.
The QOS Update Test is available in the GGSN Nodal and UMTS test cases and it can be used when the test is provisioned for GTP version 1. In the UMTS test case, the update can be initiated by the MN or the GGSN node and when initiated by the GGSN node, the IP addresses for all contexts can also be updated.
The Data Traffic option should be used in this test to verify the QOS updates. Bearer traffic using the data protocol, volume, and rate that you define is transmitted through the established sessions, adding to the real-world activity model.
The SUT Query option can be used to monitor the SUT CPU usage or dynamically adjust the connect and disconnect rates to based on the CPU usage.
