SGs Sessions Measurements

The values on the SGs Sessions tab report the processing measurements for the SGs interface in a MSC Node and SMS Network test cases.

Measurement Values

Unless otherwise noted, cumulative values report the number of occurrences or rates calculated since the start of the test, and per-interval values report the number of occurrences or rates calculated during the interval. You can view either by changing the measurement values...

Elapsed Time is the first measurement on every tab. It reports the amount of time between the start of the test and the end of the report interval.

Test Iteration reports the current iteration in a repeating test session. It is only displayed when a Number of Iterations is defined for the test session.

Session Measurements

The following measurements record the SGs messages and actions related to BS connections.

Location Update Attempts — The number of times the MME attempted to update the location of the UE. Although this value is the sum of Successes and Failures, the equation may not hold true at any given time during session processing since some sessions may be in a transient state when the measurements are collected.
Location Update Successes — The number successful location updates.
Location Update Failures — The number times SGs session failed to updated location due to errors.
Location Update Timeouts — The number of times a location Update Request was sent without receiving a response from the BS.
Location Update Retries Exceeded — The number of location update attempts that resulted in the defined Retries being exceeded.
Paging Attempts — The number of times the MME attempted to page UE.
Paging Successes — The number of successful paging attempts made by the MME.
Paging Failures — The number failed paging attempts made by the MME.
Paging Timeouts — The number of times a Paging Request was sent without receiving a response.
Paging Rejects — The number of times a Paging Request was rejected.
Paging Request Retries Exceeded — The number of paging request attempts that resulted in the defined Retries being exceeded.
Detach Attempts — The number of times the MME attempted to detach from the UE.
Detach Successes — The number of times the MME attempted to detach from the UE.
Detach Failures — The number of times the MME failed to detach from the UE.
Detach Timeouts — The number of times the MME attempted detach without receiving a response from the UE.
Detach Retries Exceeded — The number of times the detach attempts resulted in the defined Retries being exceeded.
UEs Unreachable — The number of UEs that are unreachable.
Mobile Term CSFBs Rejected — The number of Mobile Term CSFBs that were rejected.
NAS Release Requests — The number of NAS release requests sent.
Service Requests Received — The number of Service requests (SR) received.
Paging Option 2 Waits — The number of times the MSC Node entered a wait state. When UE Unreachable response to a page request is received, enter the wait state to retry the page.
Paging Option 2 Attempts — The number of Page requests sent after timing out and retrying due to UE Unreachable previously received.
Paging Option 2 Successes — This counter is pegged when: receive a UE Unreachable response; receive a Page Reject with Cause equal to CS Fall Back Rejected by User; or receive a Service Request and able to parse the service indicator for any reason. Only pegged by the MSC Node test case.
Paging Option 2 Failures — This counter is pegged when: time out waiting for a response to a page request; receive a Page Reject with cause other than CS Fall Back Rejected by User; or receive a Service Request and couldn't parse the service indicator for any reason. Only pegged by the MSC Node test case.
Ue Activity Sent — The number of UE Activity messages sent. Only pegged by the MSC Nodal test case.
Ue Activity Received — The number of UE Activity messages received while in the UE Unreachable wait state. Only pegged by MSC Node test case.
Alert Request Attempts — The number of Alert requests sent.
Alert Request Successes — The number of Alert request successes.
Alert Request Failures — The number of Alert request failures.
Alert Request Timeouts — The number of Alert request timeouts.
Alert Request Retries Exceeded — The number of Alert request retries exceeded.
