In AMF Node/Nodal test case, the PWS Tab for N2 interface allows the user to define requests related to Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) Broadcast System for 5G. Also available in the Service Based Node test case in the CBCF-AMF interface.
Per 3GPP 23.401. Click for additional details.

The Following N2 Messages are used for carrying PWS messages between AMF and gNB:
1. WRITE-REPLACE-WARNING-REQUEST - This message is sent by the AMF to request the start or overwrite of the broadcast of a warning message.
2. WRITE-REPLACE-WARNING-RESPONSE - This message is sent by the NG-RAN node to acknowledge to the AMF on the start or overwrite request of a warning message. It contains the areas where either resource is available to perform the broadcast or where broadcast is performed successfully.
3. PWS CANCEL REQUEST - This message is forwarded by the AMF to the NG-RAN node to cancel an already ongoing broadcast of a warning message.
4. PWS CANCEL RESPONSE - This message is sent by the NG-RAN node to indicate the list of warning areas where cancellation of the broadcast of the identified message was successful and unsuccessful.
There are two message types that can be delivered to gNB(s) via AMF from CBCF/PWS-IWF:
1. The WRITE-REPLACE-WARNING-REQUEST-NG-RAN Request/Indication primitive is to request the AMF to start or overwrite a warning message broadcast. The response to this Request/Indication primitive is sent by the AMF in a corresponding WRITE-REPLACE-WARNING-CONFIRM-NG-RAN primitive.
2. The STOP-WARNING-REQUEST-NG-RAN Request/Indication primitive is sent to request to stop a warning message broadcast. The response to this Request/Indication primitive is sent by the AMF in a corresponding STOP-WARNING-CONFIRM-NG-RAN primitive.
