Users accounts can now be assigned to User Groups. User groups can be assigned to Test Servers and SUTs.
Test Servers and SUTs can be assigned a Private User Group, PrivateUserGroup (Tcl/REST API attribute) or "Available to Everyone".
When assigned to a User Group ID, only users in that User Group will have permission.
When assigned to the User Group, Test Operators not in the User Group will not be able to View or Use the SUT or TS details.
The SUTs will actually be filtered to not be visible to the user at all. TSs will still be visible by name in TS list, but user cannot actually use or view details of them.
Custom Libraries can be assigned to a User Group, as a third permissions options.
NOTE: When you add/remove/modify a User Group, the changes are propagated to all clients, however, any open dialogs will probably not get automatically refreshed. It is the expectation that user group and user administration should be done when the specific users are NOT using the system. Or that at least all users should logout and login to get all data reflected accurately. Ultimately, even if the users do not logout/login the TAS will apply the new rules immediately, so even if a user can still see things in GUI temporarily if they try to run a test on a private TS, use a private SUT, or from a private Customer Library, the TAS would prevent it. |
Test Server Admin: Use the Private User Group to assign to specific User Group or "Available to Everyone".
