H248 Tab

The H248 tab is used to define the layer of the Mc interface between the (G) MSC and the Media Gateway. H248 Protocol is used to control the user plane bearer for call session, and the user plane transport interface between the MGW and IM-MGW which uses IP/UDP/RTP protocol.

H248 (MEGACO) supports a separation of call control entities from bearer control entities and a separation of bearer control entities from transport entities.

General

Retries

Enter the number of times to re-transmit (Retry) a message after a timeout occurs.

Range: 1 to 10

Default: 5

Tcl Parameter: McRetries

Retry Time (ms)

Enter the Retry Time (ms). The amount of time to wait for a response.

Range: 10030000

Default: 2000

Tcl Parameter: McRetryTime

Protocol Version

Select the Protocol Version supported on the MGW Node.

Options: 2 (Default) or 3

Tcl Parameter: McProtoVer

Reason

Select Service Change Reason when registering the MGW to MGC.

Options: Cold Boot (Default) or Warm Boot

Tcl Parameter: McReason

Activate Interworking Function

Use checkbox to enable Activate Interworking Function (per 3GPP TS 23.231). The"Interworking Function" is based on the "PLMN Bearer Capability" of the bearer Termination. The activation of the possible "Interworking Function" in both bearer terminations will be requested by the MSC Server at reception of the SIP 200 OK (INVITE) response.

Default: False

Tcl Parameter: McActIwfEn

Activate Voice Processing Function

Use checkbox to enable Activate Voice Processing Function to achieve desired acoustic quality on the bearer terminations. The MSC server shall request the activation of voice processing functions in the bearer terminations. For Non-speech calls, the MSC server has the ability to instruct the MGW to disable the voice processing functions.

Default: False

Tcl Parameter: McActVpfEn
