Selecting a SUT


Use the Select Different SUT window to define the SUT in your test cases. You may click ...  to display the Select Different SUT window and select the SUT to be tested. The Select Different SUT window is available where you need to select a SUT for test purposes.

Select Different SUT Components:

Filter Name, Filter IP, Filter Type

You can limit the list of SUTs in the in library display to only those items that match the letters or word you type or a list of IP Address.

Filter Name:

Enter letters or word to filter in the Filter by Name and a list filtered by name displays. For example, enter "Test" to find SUTs with the word Test in the name.

Filter IP:

Enter part of the IP address to filter in the Filter IP and a list filtered by IP address. For example, enter "10.1." to find SUTs with matching IP Address.

Filter Type:

Enter the type (entered as Meta Data) and list filtered by SUT type displays. For example, enter "Generic" to display SUTs that match the criteria.

Create

Available only if the User Level has permission. Allows you to create and select a new SUT from the Select Different SUT window.

Tool TIP: The following displays:

Create and select a SUT with IP Address (required) and Name/Type (optional, if provided) based on Filter fields.

 

Enter the following and click Create.

NOTE: If you need to create a new IP address, first filter the list of SUTs by IP Address to see if a SUT already with the required IP address exists. If it does, you may select it.

Filter Name:

Enter Name for the new SUT being created. This is an optional parameter. If you do not enter any information, the SUT name will the IP Address.

Filter IP:

Enter the IP address for the new SUT being created. This is a required parameter.

The Management IP Address will be set to the IP Address and the Management username/password will be blank. You may go to the SUT Administration window and edit the fields as required.

NOTE: You cannot edit the SUT’s Name.

Filter Type:

Enter Type for the new SUT being created. This is an optional parameter. If you do not enter any information,  the SUT Type will be Generic.

Clear

Click Clear to erase any information in the Filter parameters and list all the available SUTs.

In the Select Different SUT window, the latest operation information will be saved. For example, if you enter the IP Address and SUT name to either Filter or Create a SUT, and then open a new test case and select SUT, the Select Different SUT window displays a filtered list of SUT according to the information previously filled. Clicking Clear, erases any information entered in the Filter parameters.
